Patience is one of those virtues that hasn’t really been my forte these past few years. It could be an end result of a myriad of different stimuli, yet here I am anyway–typically unable to hold back when I get a step closer to my goals. Having quit my social in order to ease the stress of those who stand up for me, I decided to try something new this week: to sit back calmly and just play the game.
Mind you, I blame my fortune cookie for the decision.

This was taken on Tuesday, during our first attempt at going for Floor 4 in Zhayolm Remnants in under thirty minutes. Rhy powered up his own Monk significantly for the endeavor, though even with his new merits and such we made just enough mistakes to wipe to the queen frog at 8% HP. Keda and Rhy are both sporting perfectly identical TP gear, and there I am in the background with the build I’ve had for nearly half a year–completely unchanged.
Luckily for me, MulletHaven has been focused pretty hardcore on getting my Usukane Sune-ate completed. Gotta love these guys like brothers, man. They’re some of the people who keep me playing the game even. When Mullets focus on something, we tend to “get ‘er done”, so to speak. So on our Thursday run of that week:

Since I already had the 12 Marid Leather, and 10 Imperial Gold Pieces, I went to the corresponding NPC and traded my items in. Unfortunately I couldn’t stay up the whole night since I had work, but after work on Friday:

I’ll admit that I got sort of frantic about having Usukane Sune-ate before Byakko’s Haidate, but hey!–I had them. After two months of Salvage, I had the one piece I wanted above all others. With absolutely nothing to complain about, I changed my job to Black Mage and headed on up to sky like always. It was a gods run that night, and attendance looked rather bleak until an hour late. One would assume a few people don’t account for daylight savings time, but… come on now. <.<
An hour after start time, the other 85% of the attending members showed up, and we did a few back-to-back Seiryu and Suzaku. They yielded some abjurations people wanted, but unfortunately no Seiryu’s Kote for Foxx.

After our second Seiryu, the plan was to do one Genbu–and perhaps a Byakko if people were still awake. That was all fine and dandy, especially if it got a haidate off of the list. According to various LS sacks, I was 3rd in line since there was a guy with more “buy” points than me–despite them being on my wishlist. Rules confirmed otherwise, but what right did I have of arguing? All I had to do was wait a few more weeks and they’d be mine anyway.
The first Byakko dropped his pants, which went to Tomoky (congrats!) as well as some other items which I can’t remember for the life of me. Linkshell members and sacks began discussing doing Kirin for the rest of the night, until someone noted that another shell had been fighting -one- Kirin for three hours, and weren’t even at 50%. Tossing that idea aside, they revealed that there was one more pop set for Byakko. Joyous that another might drop to put me on the top of the list for the next run, I readied my stun finger and checked over my ice-based spells just in case I had time and MP to nuke a little.
Not even ten minutes later, we got a pretty decent droplist:

Just as I was about to type out “{Congratulations!}” to the supposed second-in-line, our Linkshell leader says in LS chat:
“Kyo, Haidate.”
…
Ohhhh snap!

Turns out he remembered the wishlist priority rule, which deemed them as mine. There was a spiff of drama from the other guy, saying that he attended more runs and that drops always went to people who came more often. I joined after he did and have missed -one- run, but none of the attendance rules played against me, since it was half a month ago.
Granted, they now own my eternal soul, but that’s beside the point. In a single night I got the two items I’ve been wanting since my Samurai dinged 75. Now how often does that honestly happen?

Happy little bugger I am, time to test it all out in Limbus.
And, Unc, this will indeed keep me quiet for more than a week. :P
-Kyo
Congrats :DDDDDDDD and yes I do own your soul now.
At least it’s a worthy soul to own.~
Congratulations. It’s about time. :P
Gratz Kyo!!
